If the person has SolidWorks (as he is using SW Composer) he can just save out as a 3D PDF. Although a user would need to select an object to see the part name in the part tree, this may be an option. One may not need be an artist, per se, but one would certainly need a number of skills. Personally I would never create something like your example as a 2D illustration since I don't have that skill, but I would approach it as a 3D model. As such, proficiency with CAD would be required. Thanks James, I had tried both methods, but I didn't know how to use live paint. Following your instructions, I was able to follow through. Shape Builder didn't like all the lines in this model, so it took a very long time and missed 75% of the model. But is is definitely something to try again. I w...
