Re: Critique Request

Steven, While I'm well aware of the aviation work of Mike Badrocke, I wasn't aware of Tim Hall. But I was glad I Googled him having seen your reference to his name. Fantastic work. If others haven't seen it it's worth a visit: http://www.flightlinearts.com There's some good sized portfolio samples t...

Re: 3D software for illustration / visualisation

Curtis - thanks, Yes I like the look of Modo's modelling workflow. I did try it briefly, in an earler version - but it was a bit crash prone on my machine. How is stability for you (are you Mac or Windows?)? I agree about the gallery - very consistent imagery of the sort I'm looking to produce. C4d ...

Re: Critique Request

Hi Steven, Here are my thoughts from a first viewing... First of all - thanks for posting it! I'd love to see more of this type of thread : ) I think the illustration of the aircraft looks great. In the section on the wing flaps, I think the vertical order of your illustrations would be better rever...

Re: TechIllustration Online

Fiel, The best two books I know of are those reviewed in the main part of the site here: http://technicalillustrators.org/category/books/ Both are good. As far as on-line tutorials are concerned there are very few, but Kevin Hulsey - a master of tech. Illustration has some good advice at: http://www...

3D software for illustration / visualisation

Hi all, Anybody using 3D software for visualisation or illustration work? Just wondering what software you use and what your thoughts are. A lot of my images are 3D based. In relatively recent times I've used FormZ, Rhino and Cinema 4D (C4D) - with C4D being the mainstay. Unfortunately the latest C4...

Illustrating people

Hi all - my first post here, although I've enjoyed the site for a little while. Excuse my ignorance here, as I'm a much more of a graphics generalist than an illustrator, but I'm wondering what approach most people take to illustrating people in their work. I was propted by seeing Jameson Simpson's ...
