Not exactly new but I put up a more complete gallery of my Honda Genuine Parts Ads on my new Cargo based site. That was a really fun project and I had total freedom to do anything I wanted: http://www.hatchillustrations.com/#2245 ... ustrations

I was looking at your webpage and work. What medium did you use to produce the Automotive Exterior Illustrations?http://www.hatchillustrations.com/#2073 ... ustrations

I should eventually have some work up on this site once again. I recently got a job as a contracted Technical Illustrator for an advertising company. Finally I've joined the professional community of Illustration!

Hey Steven, Thanks for checking out my work. Those cars were done with Photoshop. I shot the reference on most of them. On the Porsches I was still inking the outlines by hand and scanning them in for paint but on the later cars I switched to inking my Paths in Photoshop. I mostly used the Airbrush tool and a Wacom tablet. I hope this helps.

Wow, all this stuff is so impressive. I am glad I am going to school as a technical writer so that I won't have to compete with you guys :)
That said, thus far my freelance paying gigs have been in the realm of illustration and graphic design; fun work if you ask me. Steven, your work is most impressive; right up there with the best on here.

I am just wondering whether there is room for more mid-level illustrators out there. I see myself bridging the gap of offering both writing and illustration services. I'll know where to look if I need someone who can pull out all the stops!

Do you start with full versions of each: wireframe and fine detail, then blend them together? I imagine that might be a lot of work if you already know when sections will be which.

I am close to finishing up a Vincent Black Shadow that I have been toying with for almost 10 years. Full-on trace job, but really doing it to test and hone all of my Illustrator skills. Still find myself digging the internet for closeups of engines, forks, brakes, etc... I should just buy one ;)
