3D PDF viewer within Illustrator

No doubt some of you will have seen an interactive CAD file embedded in a PDF.
By that I mean, when you click on the object within Adobe Reader, it loads a 3D
version of the object. You can then rotate the object 360 degrees, and choose
a host of other viewing options...very cool!
Do any of you know if there is a plugin for Illustrator which will let you use the
3D functionality when views in Illustrator? Right now I have to find the right
viewing angle, print to PDF, then open or drop the PDF into my AI file.

Re: 3D PDF viewer within Illustrator

I've used software that extracts the 3D model from the PDF for further editing in another program.

Photoshop now has some 3D tools... maybe it'd be possible to get the 3D model into PS, then place the .PSD in Illustrator?
