Creating illustration with Pro-E files

Hi Friends !
So here is my problem.
My client provided me Pro-E files. (.prt and .asm). I dont have Pro-E. All I got is PTC Creo View Express.
I must create quality line illustrations and I have Inkscape and AI CS 6.
Can anybody tell me what to do?

Re: Creating illustration with Pro-E files

If your client uses pro-e based software, they are completely capable of providing a useful format like a .dxf as a .pdf. Pdf's will allow you to use some of the linework or at the very least, provide you with a flat image to referrence. Most pro-e software has an ability to translate into pdf or other universally visible formats. My first suggestion is that you should request for the .dxf as a pdf. Specifiy your needs as well- color or linework or both.
