Hi, all. Here is the Hercules XVII engine. It was rendered in blender:

Re: New Work

Incredible work all. Abrown, I love the engines. I've maintained the smaller Wasp, Wasp Jr, Jacobs and the 7 cyl. Lycoming. You really have a nack for materials/lighting for an engine. Last one textured in substance painter?

I've spent a lot of time flight simming in those engines (the Hercules/Merlin). I'm a drafter in the aerospace industry and also am contracting on the side as a 3D artist for a WW2 flight sim. Don't really have much to show but I'm very inspired by the work being done here.

Don't have much to show, but I have an artstation set up here: https://www.artstation.com/zebart

Regards.

Re: New Work

Happy New Year everyone! Here is a little illustration I did at the end of this year. I found a free CAD model online and used Cinema 4D to place it in the proper isometric angle and then I drew all of the line art in Adobe Illustrator. The Astute Graphics plug-ins are fantastic! Using the marker tool while holding shift I can quickly remove overlapping lines and the Protractor tool helped a lot in creating the 150, 30, and 90 degree angles needed for isometric view (this also negates the need for creating an isometric grid).
I am a huge advocate for clean and consistent line art and often feel it is cheaply done using a CAD software or poorly executed. This drawing was a lot of fun to do for that reason. I also created this as the majority of my isometric and orthographic work is and will remain under NDAs. To prove I can do this work I had to have something on my portfolio to show it. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to seeing your art in the new year!

Amazing work, as always, Jim!

Love the lighting and sense of material on the Icon illustrations.
