New site looks good James.
I like how easy it is to sort through your portfolio.
Also like how your Recent Work reads like a blog.
Cheers.

James,

Your updated site looks terrific (as everything you do does).

I recently updated my website as well to get rid of the flash galleries, since many (all??) tablets won't allow flash, so I know how much work website updates take.

Now that I've discovered the stroke thickness tool, thanks to a blog post by James, my line art is starting to look a lot more, well, like James'! Before, I was creating tapered brushes which just didn't give you the same control as multiple thickness control points.
As with everything is to find your own style. Sometimes hard when only doing figure drawing once in a while...

You have done a great job. There are so many parts, this must take a lot of time to compile.

I can't remember if you do you work in 3D or 2D Illustration. Which is it?

Im guessing he did a 3D model of a section, and in this case he probably did a Polar array if theres a lot of symetry, it can be fun.

Don-- the engine was done in 3d. It did take quite a long time. I did it on my weekends, so I had the luxury of working without time constraints.

JuanCal-- the double wasp has 18 cylinders, so there was plenty of opportunity for memory efficiency with the radial symmetry.

Here's a little something I've been working on in C4D.

I've been seeing a lot of sites use a parallax effect where some parts of the design scroll at a different rate than others. I thought I'd try it out here:

Super cool james, I love it. Way to push the technology. You may be the first guy to do that with a technical illustration.
