  1. This is really beautiful. I love Ninian Carter’s work. I remember the isometric aircraft he created. It was nice to know about his workflow process. It is inspiring for me, I get to learn new things.

    For adapting an exploded view like this into assembly instructions, I would keep the same component labels and camera angle across the overview and the individual steps. The exploded overview tells readers where parts belong, but a separate sequence is still needed to show the order of assembly and which connections must be made first.

    Disclosure: I work on ManualFig, a tool for drafting technical illustrations and instruction manuals from product references. This distinction between a clear overview and an actionable sequence is something we need to preserve in generated drafts, with the actual geometry and procedure checked against the product.
