Another method for working with isometrics in Illustrator.

I found this tutorial on the Computer Arts website. Pretty nice tutorial on covering some basic isometric tricks. I have to admit, I’ve never messed around with the extrude tool much but this made me want to try it out a little more.

    I’ve played around with the isometric settings of the ‘3D rotate’ function before – but I’ve found it inaccurate.

    If you take three identical squares and use the iso top, left and right settings, then assemble the results into a cube – the corners don’t match up. As a perfectionist – that bothers me : )

    I think it would be great if the Illustrator team took the new perspective grid feature and gave it isometric and other para-line capability. If you think the same you can request it here:
